I always try to buy American and while some amazing products come out of China, I didn’t generally include knives among them. CIVIVI’s Conspirator changed my perspective. I first heard of the CIVIVI brand at SHOT Show 2022 and was impressed with their selection of beautiful knives at affordable prices.

Curious if it would hold up, they sent me a Conspirator to put to the test. This knife endured several months of daily carry, multiple trips, and countless uses. It is still sharp and beautiful as ever. Its Damascus blade garnered considerable comments whenever I took it out, which I often did just to show it off.

The Conspirator is 8.11” in length open, 4.63” closed and 1.44” wide with a 3.48” blade. It fits comfortably and securely in a pants pocket with its attached stainless-steel clip. It was a bit long for carry in some women’s clothing, but that’s not the fault of the knife. Many shorts and jeans made for women have exceptionally small pockets. Shout out to companies like 5.11, Kadri, and Girls with Guns who understand women need pockets too!

CIVIVI’s Conspirator weighs 3.72 ounces, enough to feel the weight in your hand, but not enough to be burdensome. I like a knife to have some weight and feel. The dark green micarta handle had a rough texture to it for gripping in wet or slippery conditions. This texturing was effective but not troublesome – it didn’t cause any scratches or wear against the inside of my pockets during carry.

The flat, black hand-rubbed blade is made of genuine Damascus steel with a hardness of 58-60HRC. Damascus is not only beautiful but strong. The knife opens with a single button lock. It was easy to reach and push. The blade swung out swiftly with little resistance, but once locked open, it held. I put all my weight over the extended and locked blade as I cut against a hard and stable surface. It held. I also put pressure against the back of the blade towards the handle. It didn’t move from its locked position until I pushed the button. This button was easy to push, but required legitimate though not excessive pressure. The Conspirator never opened accidentally, even when tossed around in a suitcase and hitting against the contents of my purse. I really like flipper knives like this one as its easy to open with one hand.

The Damascus/Dark Green Micarta Handle version of the Conspirator retails for $113, almost half the cost of many other Damascus EDC knives. It comes in a small zipper case with a soft interior and a small cleaning cloth inside. Other versions of the Conspirator are even more affordable.

The CIVIVI Conspirator has quickly found its way into my trusted group of personal everyday carry knives, and is available in several blade/handle combinations to fit any style.
